All children are resilient and capable of thriving. In sessions, I provide a safe and supportive space for children to explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. I focus on getting to know your child to customize their sessions based on their personality, strengths, and struggles. In session with me, children explore, express, and heal through play, games, art, yoga, mindfulness and more. I work closely with parents to offer support and guidance. I work with children to learn to nurture their connections to self, to family, to peers, and will assist them to be happy and well-adjusted little beings!
I specialize in therapy with children and families, and have more than 20 years of experience in the field. Because of this, children and families are able to address a wide range of concerns in their time with me. Examples of concerns I often address in sessions: managing overwhelming emotions, developing social skills, creating a positive sense of self, building communication skills, etc. I have training and experience in trauma-focused treatment for children. If your child has experienced a traumatic event, therapy can help them to explore, express, and process their thoughts and feelings around the event with the goal of bringing them healing, safety, and emotional resolve.
I also have experience providing treatment to young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I am skilled at forming connections and helping children with ASD build their skills in play, communication, relating, and adaptive living.
I just moved back to the Twin Cities after living in New York City for 18 years. I love NY and am happy to be back in beautiful Minnesota! I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring nature. Watching a beautiful sunset over a lake is the perfect way to end the day! I also enjoy photography, travel, cooking with my children, and spending time with family and friends.
