Online Adult Therapeutic Gaming Group

Who

 Adults ages 18 and older who have an interest in playing longform campaign-style group games like D&D. All group members must have access to a laptop or desktop computer that has high speed internet, a camera and microphone, and ability to use the website Roll 20 while on a zoom video call.

What

This therapy group will play the tabletop role playing game (RPG) The Little Town of Tusk. This Dungeons and Dragons game is a level 1 module in the Critical Core gaming system which was developed by mental health professionals. This group will support the mental health of group members through healthy social connections, conversation, and teamwork.

When

This group is currently suspended. 

Where

This is a virtual group that will be using zoom and Roll 20. Instructions will be emailed on how to access both of these.

Why

The purpose of this group is to provide a safe place for gamers to make social connections while working on skills like emotional regulation, planning, and perspective-taking.

For group intakes: Please be on the computer/using the internet they plan to use during the game for Intake session in order for Mary to assess the speed of client internet connection.

Fees

Group cost is $50 for the group intake and per group session and includes materials. Sliding fee available; inquire with therapist. Superbills are provided for all group members and are particularly helpful for those who would like to submit to HSA, flex accounts, or insurance providers for out-of-network reimbursement. Therapist may be able to electronically submit out of network insurance claims if requested following payment.
