Changing Families: Divorce Support for Kids

Who

Ages 9-12 (grades 4-6); siblings are welcome to join the group together.

What

This group exists to help children better cope with the transitions and changes leading up to or following a recent parental divorce. Kids will receive and give support to others going through a similar experience as well as learn coping skills. The group leader will share resources and help kids process through fun activities and help them understand and manage overwhelming emotions and thoughts.

Located in the Merriam Park neighborhood of St. Paul, just north of I-94. Suite 103 is on the main level of the Ivy League Place, and our door is in the southwest corner of the building. A large parking lot is available outside our entrance.

Why

Children benefit from assistance managing their thoughts and feelings associated with parental divorce and changes in their family structure. This group will also teach kids physical and emotional coping skills and provide resources to families who are navigating big changes.

Fees

The Intake is $50 and all following group sessions are $40. Sliding fee is available, please inquire with therapist. Superbills are provided for all group members and are particularly helpful for those who would like to submit to HSA, flex accounts, or insurance providers for out-of-network reimbursement. Therapist may be able to submit out of network insurance claims if requested following payment.
