What
This group aims to establish a supportive environment for community development among Queer parents/parents-to-be within the Twin Cities. While this area of Minnesota is recognized as a sanctuary for the LGBTQ+ community, establishing meaningful connections can remain a complex endeavor. This group offers parents and expectant parents identifying as LGBTQ+ a secure setting to engage in purposeful dialogue and activities designed to mitigate the unique stressors associated with navigating parenthood while holding marginalized identities.

This group will meet every other Wednesday from 4-5 PM from September 16 – December 2, 2026.

Located in the Merriam Park neighborhood of St. Paul, just north of I-94. Suite 103 is on the main/ground level of the Ivy League Place building.
Sentier’s entrance is at the southwest corner of the building (by the billboard). A large parking lot is available outside our entrance.
Why
As therapists, we know that there is a need for community and resource building in parenthood, especially those “non-traditional” parents and families. When navigating this fundamental challenge alongside stigma, lack of representation, and marginalization in general, parenthood can feel lonely and defeating. This group, led by a Queer child and family therapist, provides a dedicated therapeutic space to acknowledge these stressors while building community. We will focus on celebrating the strength and beauty of Queer households through professional guidance, collective resource-sharing, and intentional support designed to mitigate isolation and foster empowerment.

Fees
Group cost is $50 for screening and per group session. Sliding fee available, inquire with therapist. Superbills are provided for all group members and are particularly helpful for those who would like to submit to HSA, flex accounts, or insurance providers for out-of-network reimbursement. Therapist may be able to submit out of network insurance claims if requested following payment.
