We have a new Child Therapist at Sentier!!

We are so excited to welcome Bria Hubinger, MA, MEd, LPC to the Sentier team. Bria comes to us with years in the counseling and Early Childhood fields, both with experience as a therapist and a preschool teacher in a therapeutic setting. Bria has a love for children that can be felt when you are in her presence. In order for you all to get a sense of the gem that Bria is, we asked her a few questions. Bria See her answers below:

Sentier: How did you decide to become a therapist?
Growing up in a large family and surrounding myself with young people as a childcare provider and early education teacher, I witnessed time and time again how powerful it is when children feel truly seen and heard. This inspired my journey into therapy to help provide that supportive space for others.

Sentier: Who do you love working with as a therapist, and what excites you about working with your chosen populations?
I love working with the preschool age group. It is a time when so many new developmental behaviors emerge, such as boundary-testing, practicing independence, and exploring storytelling. I especially enjoy providing a humor-filled, nonjudgmental space for parents to share their struggles, victories, and funny stories during this stage of parenthood.

Sentier: How would you spend an obligation-free day?
Soak up some sunshine with my cat, get a fun coffee or boba tea with my wife, and walk around an outdoor market together.

Sentier: You’re getting takeout. What’s your meal of choice?
Thai Green Curry with fresh tofu from On’s Kitchen.

Sentier: What is your favorite method of self care?
Taking a walk in nature, finding a bench to journal on, and watching a new documentary.

Sentier: What are your professional goals as you start at Sentier?
My professional goals are working toward earning my credential as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), as well as exploring modalities of family therapy including Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Theraplay, and EFFT.
