Tana Welter

MSW, LICSW
(She/Her)

Tana believes clients are experts on themselves and that they have within them the ability to grow, change, and thrive in a safe setting. Tana actively works to uphold all clients’ worth as unique people, and believes at the core of every human is a longing to be known and valued. Tana views therapy as an honor and a privilege to be allowed into this space with clients. She takes a supportive, energetic, and creative role with her clients and meets each person where they are while helping them move forward.

Tana works with teens and adults and is especially passionate about working with teenagers during these exciting but sometimes difficult years! Tana specializes in working with and treating trauma and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Tana believes our minds and bodies want to work towards healing and therapy can be a safe space to do that. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and helps clients feel more in control of their emotions using practical, positive skills.

Tana, a native Floridian, loves all things outdoors and gets energy from being outside. She holds many therapy sessions at a nearby park or walking with clients. Tana is a member of the MN state Task Force on Justice Involved Women and Girls and is passionate about criminal justice reform. Outside of the therapy office, Tana enjoys running, biking, walks with her husband and daughter, and a good cup of coffee. She is an enthusiastic, all-in kind of person and brings that to her work at Sentier and her personal life.
