Who
High school seniors who are starting college soon and/or parents of future college students. Students and their parent are encouraged to attend together. The seminar will be facilitated by Sarah Souder Johnson, MEd, LPCC. Sarah is a psychotherapist and former school counselor and teacher with experience in clinical and higher education settings.
What
Leaving the Nest: Surviving and Thriving in College A to Z is a 90-minute seminar designed to help answer questions and relieve anxiety related to the adjustment out of the family home and into college life. Participants will walk away feeling more prepared and confident about this big life transition.
When
Leaving the Nest will be taking place on Monday, August 11 from 6:15 to 7:45 PM. A second date may be added based on registration numbers as this seminar is limited to 6 families.

Located in the Merriam Park neighborhood of St. Paul, just north of I-94 and the Cretin/Vandalia exit. We are located in Suite 103 which is on the main level of the Ivy League Place building. Our door is in the southwest corner of the building (by the billboard). A large, accessible parking lot is available outside our entrance.
Why
The transition to college is personally and academically challenging. It brings about change for the entire family when one person leaves the nest. Helping students and parents understand what to expect can help alleviate anxiety about all of the transitions happening at once.
Fees
$100 per family. Cost includes content of the seminar, a copy of Surviving and Thriving in College A to Z, additional resources, and light refreshments. Payment is due in full 72 hours prior to the seminar date and may be made via PayPal (below), Venmo, check, or cash. Please inquire about your payment method and to request a reduced fee as needed.
