High School Gaming Group - In Person

Who

High school students ages 14 – 18 who experience social anxiety and who have an interest in playing long0form campaign-style group games.

What

Do you struggle to interact with others? Does talking to people involve more anxiety than enjoyment? Join us for “The Curse of Human Interaction”, a Dungeons & Dragons-themed narrative and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) social anxiety group. You will learn social and coping skills through an RPG (Role-Playing Game) adventure, unearthing ancient mysteries as you create a character that embodies your own strengths and opportunities for improving your social life. This group will support the mental health of group members through healthy social connections, conversation, and teamwork.

This group is will take place on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:30pm from January 22 – March 19, 2025.

Located in the Highland Park neighborhood above Highgrove Dental, next to CorePower Yoga, and across the street from Cecil’s Deli.

Why

The purpose of this group is to provide a safe place for teens to make social connections while working on skills like emotional regulation, communication, social skills, planning, and perspective-taking.

Fees

Group cost is $75 for the group intake and per group session and includes materials. Sliding fee available; inquire with therapist. Superbills are provided for all group members and are particularly helpful for those who would like to submit to HSA, flex accounts, or insurance providers for out-of-network reimbursement. Therapist may be able to electronically submit out of network insurance claims if requested following payment.
